I had the same problem on my '99 with the factory mags. Contacted my car insurance office and they advised me to take it to the dealer. Dealer inspected the small gouge on the edge and took a picture. Insurance approved a wheel replacement minus my deductible. Dealer ordered a new wheel, and I was happy again.

I had it happen (drives you nuts to get that first mark. I used a small wire brush attachment on a Dremmel and it went away fairly well but of course if you want it replaced check into that first. Hope this helps.
