For the longest time, I had no idea what you guys were talking about. Well, now I do...

I don't really have time to take her into the dealer, so can someone give me the skinny on what makes the damn thing rock so I can fix it this weekend?

Thanks

Are you talking about every now and then when you get on it...it rocks up from one of the front mounts? That's the only thing I can think of....

Try this

Hi there,
Try this, move the seat, either all the way forward, or all the way back, and let me know if in either position, does it still rock??
Best to you, c4c5

Sorry, dealer time.

Hi,
Sorry for the bad news, but most of the seat adjusters I do, the tracks widen a bit over use, and do NOT rock on the ends of the travel. I just clamp down the tracks a little, and the rocking goes away.
I think your plastic ends are not tight enough, therefore you rock at all positions.
That tip came from Tom Hill, when I was down in BG, thanks Tom.
Best to you, c4c5

I'll play with it a bit this weekend, maybe I can come up with a solution. Thanks.

magarfias, mine does the same thing. Let us know how you make out! 2002 Z06 quick silver mod-red bone stock. After 2500 miles, this is the only thing wrong with the car.

C4C5 is right, you need to take it to the dealer. It's an issue with the power track (a slot that creates play because of the part geometry. The problem was recently corrected for production.

I sit next to the Vette seat engineer, so I get to hear all the details daily.

Lambinator, can you be more exact as to when this was fixed in production? It would help if you know implementation date or effectivity as of a certain VIN.
