Ever notice that when you first turn the key on and all the elements in the HUD light up, there is the word "Shift" located on the HUD display?

I thought it might be associated with the 1-->4 shift light on the speedo, but I don't see any correlation. In fact, I never see the "Shift" indicator in the HUD ever come on when driving the car.

Anyone know what its for -- maybe its something used on the Coupes and Converts??

Shift Light on HUD

Hi Zee Oh Six,
The shift light comes on when your RPM's are high and you hold it in a lower gear too long. It advises you to upshift to a higher gear. I know because mine came on yesterday at 167 MPH in fifth gear.

carzzy -- thanks for the info.

Shift light? Shift light? ... we don't need no stinkin' shift light !!
I'll have to test this out myself too.

shift light

That shift light comes on at 6250 rpm as noted in the owners manual. It works pretty cool as I used that last weekend at the track for shifting instead of looking at the tach. Ran my best times according to that shift indicator-now i'm not sure if i should install my autometer mini-light.
