Yes with AH/TC on power shifting at 6100-6200 RPMs I get a slight fishtail then TC comes on for a second or so.

You got that right!!
I lost complete control once with my AH off. Luckily I was on a very wide road with noone else around. Scared the crap out of me!!

Ask our freind RAT what can happen with the AH off.
It can get away from you in a heartbeat!!

My dealers Bodyshop, who are very excellent I might add, told me that more than 50% of the Vettes they repair are because the car got away from the owner.

I leave AH on all the time!!

Do we really need more power??? LOL You bet!!

I live just off elden st. I work in Tysons Corner.
Keep tucked away in the back of your mind that AH can't overcome those pesky laws of physics. Awesome car that can get ya in trouble fast. But you guys know that.

You have to run the car to its potential at least once. Then, I think you know what to expect and or correct when a problem does arise. Just my driving style. My wife does not approve of course.
Pretty easy in the ice or snow.

Or with AH/TC off banging 3rd hard....

2001Z06,

It's your car. You get to drive it anyway you want. But routinely driving with AH off is pretty risky.

Why not just turn off TC and leave AH on??? That the Competition mode that can be activated by holding down the button for about 5 seconds. DIC message confirms Competition.

Safer and as much fun.

Ranger,
I appreciate your thoughts and they are well taken. I am familiar with the operation of the system which I do use, mostly in wet conditions or in standard city traffic. AH/TC is a wonderful system and has tremendous value. Most people should never turn it off.
For me personally, I don't feel that running my Z06 in competitive mode is risky based my driving experiences over the last 25+ years. I grew up driving performance cars of the 60s and 70s. I understand the limitations of my car, my conditions and myself. If you know your car and the conditions you will be fine. I would not let someone drive my car without AH/TC on because they do not know my car. I never advocate unsafe driving habits; that is what causes problems. If a person is not experienced in operating their performance car in a safe manner they should certainly stay away from performance vehicles.
There is far more risk in daily driving where TC/AH system has no impact. I am referring to people talking on their cell phones while driving or not giving appropriate room behind or in front of other vehicles among others. There is far more risk in those scenarios than me running in competitive mode and using the power when I have an open stretch road.

The key is to enjoy your car and doing so safely. I am sure we both would agree on that.

Enjoy the Z06 experience.

I have felt a "little" movement when the AH/TC is off and I jumped on it when I was coming out of a turn. I turn the AH/TC off most of the time except when the roads are wet. I just like the feel of the light movement when you hit it hard. It reminds me of the posi-tractions in the good ole days. You just have to be careful and know the conditions you are in.
As for the more power thought... Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor would say... "Arghhh Arghhh Arghhh"
