Sigs - Editing for pics

875 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  FRC Tom
I've passed the reminder around, but I've had to start editing sigs.

Remember, 15k max total.

Saves me money and eases burden on modem users.

Thanks!

Ram Air, I'll get to it when I get home tonight...

Because I've allowed some to upload here and with the new upload feature, they would in fact come off my server.

Plus, it's just good practice and shows some concern for our modem users.

Additionaly, I am an old school internet geek, began programming and designing almost 8 years ago, when Netscape was a beta and there was no IE. It's about efficiency. Most sigs look just as good at 15K as they do saved at 100% at 100K...

Besides, it's the only rule I enforce for providing this service, can ya really complain?

If anyone needs help creating their jpg for a sig, I'll be more than happy to help...

JC

I agree on the modem users thing - that is my reason for enforcing such rules.

I also remember when Netscape was not Netscape and when IE didn't exist - those were the exciting days! I used to have a huge homepage when search engines didn't exist and got thousands of visitors from all over the world e-mailing me a word of thanks for putting together such a comprehensive listing in so many categories. Now of course there is no reason to do that. /ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Lastly, I hope you didn't think I was complaining - I was just asking what your reasons were. You can do whatever you want here, it's your board. /ubb/smilies/smile.gif

JC, if the sig pics are hosted elsewhere, they don't count against your bandwidth limits...just curious as to why you are concerned. I can understand excess text, but the pics should be loading from other people's servers, not yours. I had the same concern at my forum, which is why I ask. /ubb/smilies/smile.gif
