There's another discussion of Altec splash guards going on, this time on the other forum. I'm not registered there, so I thought I'd post my experience here. I installed them on my '01 about 10,000 miles ago. When cornering hard, the right sort of dip in the pavement will cause the outboard front guard to drag on the ground - happens to me once every few hours on mountain roads. My only suspension modification is '04 shocks. I didn't worry about this until I noticed recently that the right front fender had broken adjacent to the lower rear mounting bolt (just ahead of the rocker panel), leaving a half square inch of plastic attached by the bolt. There's no other damage to the fender, so I don't think I hit anything with it. When one pushes up and back on the splash guard, it appears that most of the force is transmitted to that mounting point, so I think I broke it by grounding the splash guard.
