Discussion Starter #1
I know there is somebody out there that has done this.

There was a previous post, but I can't find it. If I remember correctly is was discussing how they moved the changer from the rear of the car to behind the passenger seat, attaching it with velcro.

Tryin' to get in touch with the individual that did this, so I can pick there brain.

Thanks

CD CHANGER INSTALL

To install the CD Changer, you must first purchase the installation kit (GM Part #12496743). You can purchase this from GMPartsDirect or from Ken Fitchner. Here is a link to the installation instructions so you can see what is involved.

Bob:

That was incredibly helpful. Thank you. One question though... In the 2001 Corvette Accessories brochure from Chevy they state that the 12-Disc CD Changer part# 12495746 "cannot be used in vehicles with installed CD player audio systems." I have a factory in-dash CD player in my Z. Will this changer still work in my Z?

Can't locate the 2nd connector

Trying to install the CD changer in 01 Z06. I have found the connector that slides off (noted in pic), I can't find the one that has white tape. Please see the pic below

There is also a connector at the passenger side lower door pillar...a three wire plug. I think that is the one you are missing. Front pillar and tied into the existing wiring harness.

You do NOT have to cut off the three wire connector on your changer harness as mentioned in the CF post. The connector IS there...may have to unwrap some of the plastic covering from the existing harness to find it, but I believe the connector comes down from the vertical wire into the floor harness and is taped into it at that point. At least it was in my `01 Z06.
