Stock Z06 shifter v.s. C5 Coupe stock shifter

Does the same exact shifter come in both the Z06 and non Z06 6 speed C5?

I had a dude from GM tell me otherwise, take that for what its worth.

I couldnt tell the difference though.

The reason I ask is someone is selling their stock shifter..low miles for $50 shipped from an 04' coupe and I was gonna buy it and cut it and just wanted to save my stock shifter incase I didn't like it or wanted to go back stock to sell the car in the future. :D

I've collectively cut over an 1" off mine and it gets better every time. My shifter currently ends at the bottom of the demon key slot.

A dude from GM or a dealership? I would expect this answer from a dealership but not from GM.

It has a different part number too but it wont work with a 6 speed trans :lol:
