I'm glad you asked this. I had painted stripes on my original SS and will never do it again. They take a beating from road grime and tend to look bad in short order. If you don't have to get too fancy, vinyl is the way to go. It's much more durable and can be replaced easily. Also, the vinyl stripes cost me $80, where the paint was over $1000.

Looks great!!
I will be doing two large red stripes soon! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
But I am going to have them painted on ... thoughts?
I am not sure what you mean Kirk,

Looks cool! I like the red against the silver (and it must look great along with the red calipers).
Um... (I hope this comment isn't totally unwelcomed, but...) Any thoughts of having some kind of "return" to the stripe where it meets the front plate? As it is now (to my eye), it appears that the stripe stops "abruptly" at the front plate, whereas it might benefit from a rounded leading edge to compliment the shape of the nose.
I think we'd all concur that we'd have prefered if GM designed the nose with no removable front plate, but realize that it was a necessary evil since some states require front licenses. I'd just hate to see you accent the fact that that plate is there by having it be the reason that cool strip stops (or starts) where it does.
Hope that's halpful insight, Tom! (If not, it's just my humble opinion.) /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It does look that way in the photo, when I get the rest of the pieces on I will take some better photos.

Is it just me, or does the stripe on the Front Clip seem to not be straight, in comparison with the hood stripe? /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif
I put them on wet but the hard part is the valley in the center of the hood and roof.

Been there. Done that. Now you've done the easy part. Try aligning two stripes, keeping them parallel and straight. Now that's tough.
Did you put them on wet or dry? Don't worry about any little air bubbles that may be there. Park it in the sun for a while and they'll go away.
BTW, it looks great.
