One of Vancouver Island's worst kept secrets is the number of "enthusiast" cars normally in hiding. This includes traditional vintage collector cars, muscle cars, street rods and other specialty vehicles. But on a nice summer day, they tend to come out of the woodwork, especially for several local show 'n shines. In the south Island area, two shows have become favorites:

Beverly Corners Show 'n Shine:

Vancouver Island Motor Gathering:



For the first time, this fund-raising event was held at the recently completed Island Motosport Track, a private facility which, for a personal membership, costs $48K to join with $4K annual dues. More images here:

Because of the size of the track, you would never know 600 cars were registered for this show. Also because of the size, I chose not to wander far enough to get a whole lot of photos.
