Well, took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a busted blocking ring for the 3rd gear synchro. They replaced the 3rd 4th synchros and 3rd gear.

THIS IS THE BROKEN RING

Got it back this afternoon. Everything seems good except the emergency brake cable is rattling in the back. I will get that fixed right away.

WoW! Dropping the tranny out of a C5 is a major pain in the A$$. I never thought about it before I saw the parts out and on the floor!

Glad all went well though.

Did anybody catch the transmission change on the #3 car at Daytona? No lift, and they pulled the new unit up from inside the car! Pretty cool.
