The "Dreaded" BSMs... need input...(sorry!)..

Sorry to beat this dead horse once more BUT... I'm very close to pulling them off! Now I know if I DIDN'T have them, I'd might be wanting to put them ON... I've read those posts too... but I would like some of you to try and talk me OUTof doing this. I will preserve them (suggestions?) so the window sticker matches the options on (or around) the Z. I don't want to take them off, and a few months later try to put 'em back on... poorly, mis-aligned and with poor adhesive. As they are now, they are perfect as the General is capable of doing it. TIA

Don't forget to remove them from your sig Photo Too!
after you take them off some a$$ hole will ding your door THEN YOU REALY BE PISSED OFF thats why mine are still on!
Help me out here.
What is the difference in having a ding in the door or a ding in the BSM?
I would not like either one!
There is always a slight chance that the extra 1/2 inch the BSM sticks out would get dinged but the door would not if no BSM's were on.
I would not leave them on just for protection. If you really like the looks of them, leave them on.
I prefer the clean, no BSM look.
Had mine 2 years and park everywhere. No door dings yet.
Thanks for the input... as an aside, I didn't order them. My order was in when the dealer called 1 week later and said the same car I ordered became available. IT had the BSMs. I like the clean look too. I would like to remove them without damaging the factory paint. ANYBODY done this?
...and YES, I will remove them in the sig photo!!!:D

That was funny.. I was about to reply with a stupid "What's a BSM?", but like the detective I am, I skillfully deduced what it was after reading.. Ahh..

So, question:

Exactly why would you want to remove your Borla Side Muffler?

Harley, Many of the BSM's have been removed.
I have not done it but you can use a hair dryer and peel very carefully and slowly.
Some have used some type of adhesive remover also.
I think you can reuse the BSM's.
I have not heard od anyone damaging their car yet.
Hopefully someone will post to this who has done it.

Take them off. The reduced weight will give you at least 1 second faster 1/4 mile times. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah, I've done it, and so have a lot of others. Go for it. Monofilament fishing line, gloves, a hair dryer and some Goo Gone. Nothing to it. I took mine off with no damage to either my paint or the BSMs.
Where you are, you won't need any additional heat, just a warm day. They can be reapplied easily enough. No big deal, just take your time. Don't lever them off; they're easily bent.

BTW, if you pull the line out and saw with it, you can damage the edges of the bsm's. Work the line parallel to the side of the car.
