I'm keeping her. When I was in High School my best friend bought a Black '69 Mustang Boss 429. He has always regretted selling that car (which I just saw at Barret & Jackson sell for $59,500 in OK condition). At the time that car (arguably) was the fastest showroom racer you could get.

I think the Z06 is the first car since '69 to generate this kind of interest and feelings in American Muscle cars.

Vipers are cool. However, aren't they really a niche car and out of reach of the average person?

I will get my second

Corvette when the C-6 comes out and take advantage of the improvements GM makes to the Corvette then.

Im on the list for a 2002 ZO6, will probably keep it for a year and a half or so. I think that a C6 would be next.

The Z06 was a big upgrade from my 97 C5, both in power and handling. Future Vettes, another Z or the C6, will likely have more power but I doubt there will be a significant improvement in handling. Not without doing something exotic and expensive. My plan is to modify the Z. I'm already running as much or more HP/TQ than what a 02 will likely produce (unless it's a big block). With a head/cam package next year a newer model should not be a threat.

Ok everyone, you have made it know that you wish for some improvements to the `01 ZO6 according to those that have posted anyway.
Now GM delivers on those requests for `02!

What do you do now? Will you trade in the `01 for an `02? Or will ya keep the `01 for a while?

Lets hear your rational for your actions.

Personally, I will be keeping my `01 for several years....GM will always have something better in the future...right.

The Z06 is my 10th Vette and like Frank, this is the first one that I really think I'm going to keep. Besides, I've made most of the improvements that I want anyway. I'm also tired of losing money every year on new Vette purchases.

Our next Vette will probably be the 2005 C6, when MrsCorvetteSS' lease is up. That is if I can talk her out of the new Viper.

My wife laughed at me when I bought an extended warranty with this one. It is a keeper. The Mallett will go to my son in a couple of years and I hope to get a new C6 as a daily driver for my wife and a nice one to go on trips, cushy and automatic. Maybe our first convertible, who knows. Maybe I can talk her into a hot 6 speed, who knows!

I will keep my Zo6 with the DRM top-end kit unless the '02 comes stock with at least 435rwhp and can be modded to increase the same as the '01. A Z06 Coupe might also be of same interest, although I must confess that the shape and feel of the FRC has really grown on me.

Many of you know that I hope the Z06 name is shelved for another 35+ years. My original plans were to keep it stock and in pristine condition, thinking it could be a collectors item in another 25 years. It would be nice to see the 60th Barrett & Jackson auction have a 2001 Z06 going for $100K+, LOL. I do plan on buying a 63-67 in the near future since the 2001 needs a companion. It would be a dream to pick up a '63 Z06 to put next to the 2001. I am curious to know if any of those 63 Z06 owners bought the 2001 model.

In any case, my current plans are to keep the 2001 Z06. At least until I am no longer able to push in the clutch and/or use the shifter.
