Regardless of what teasers you hear from other sources, the *definitive*, in-depth discussion of the 2002 Z06 and the revised LS6 engine will be posted at one second past midnight tonight in the free area at the C5 Registry On-Line.

This will not be a repost of GM news releases or press kit material.

You will read a fast-paced road test, a technical analysis of the LS6 revisions and, in a first-time-anywhere, exclusive to the Registry, GM will break its official silence about the oil consumption problem and the fix.

Additionally, there will be a discussion on the addition of the HUD as standard equipment, the "new/old" Z06 wheels and an explanation of changes in the Z06's ride-and-handling, along with information-packed interviews with Dave Hill, LS1/6 engine Chief "Dr." John Juriga and ride-and-handling engineer, Mike Neal.

Tomorrow morning, have breakfast at your computer and point your browser at http://www.c5registry.com.

I called today and put in the order. I drop off a check on Saturday. I had been planning on it, but I couldn't take waiting any longer - even if better deals are to be had at the end of 02. Soon I will be driving the car in the story (well, with black interior instead).

I think everyone willl be writing deposits for $1000 in the very near future. We will also be seeing a lot of 01' ZO6's for sale.
Our For Saler section will be filling up pretty soon!!!!!!!

My dad swung by the local chevy dealer today to inquire about ordering one. He got a copy of the anouncement.

In there they show all the changes made to the car. Curiously absent was the 405HP indications.

The anouncement claims 385 for 2002. What the hell is going on?

I don't think they got the 02' Press Release.
Send over to this forum so that they can have proof of the 405 HP even the 405 HP badges on the ZO6, which in my opinion look terrific. If you don't believe this form, you can always check the corvette museum website. No offense.

To the above and all others who've posted the kindly comments on my Z06 piece: thanks very much for the nice words.

I find it funny how the C5 Registry never mentions us nor links to us but they somehow find it appropriate to advertise here.....

I think some disclosure is needed on the above issue:

The C5 Registry periodically hires me as an independant contractor to write and provide images of Corvette new product coverage.

I'm neither a member of the C5 Registry nor am I on its staff.

My posting to this forum about my 02 Z06 article was a way of achieving two goals: 1) get the word out to this Z06-specific forum about a source of information about the 02-car that would be of great interest to its members and 2) get more traffic to read my article.

So, if my posting the teaser to this forum is advertising, it's on my behalf, not the Registry's The more people that read my articles, the more informed Z06ers there will be and the more likely the C5 Registry will be to do more business with me.

If Z06vette.com is interested in comissioning me to write exclusive articles for its membership on the Z06 or other C5 issues, I'm more than willing to do so provided this site's owners and myself can work out a suitable business arrangement. If the owners of this forum are interested in such an arrangement, they should contact me privately.
