Ok. I have not had a ticket since I was 18. Here it is 7 years later and I have gotten 2 within 1 month. My Z is a bad influence. What they dont tell ya at the bank is the Z06 is actually a lot more expensive then that 48K they make ya pay.

Flood,

Where are you getting caught? GSP or local enforcement? Be careful around Doraville.

Gotta watch that speed - our roads are packed.

It's the not the bank that will probably be telling you that it costs more than $47K, it's going to be your insurance company. Those are both 30 mph over too.
Did they make you go the "office" when they pulled you over? Years ago (back in '79) when I got my last speeding ticket, it was 85 in a 55 on the interstate. Because it was more than 20 over, the state trooper asked me to follow him to the courthouse that was a few exits down the highway. It cost me $50 cash! The equivalent of about $200 now.
At that time I owned a 550 HP '68 camaro and a 325 HP '68 camaro but I was driving my parents' 6 cylinder '72 nova. I never got any violations in the performance cars but I sure did in that stinking nova. So, you can't blame it on the vette.
Keep an eye open and take the lead weights out of those sneakers. Good luck!!

Fight every ticket you ever get, be nice to the cop and before court try to talk to him and give him a little sob story, not to much bull, you never know but maybe at the very least he will reduce the mph so the fine and points hurt less. They may not even show up to court and then your off the hook, it happens more than you think. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Manatee, the 1st one was in Marietta. I was racing a ricer and blew him away so bad, the cop couldnt get me for racing. He told me he could take me to jail, but he understood the temptation since the car was new (still had the dealer plates).

Second one was the State Patrol on 75N. I dont even bother with those guys. The GSP usually wont take you to jail, but they wont listen to excuses either. =

This happened to me in 1980, and I was driving my first sports car which was a new Porsche 911. I was driving from Quebec back to Boston on I95 with my girlfriend and our cat. I passed a Maine cop at about 130, without knowing it, who was sitting on a highway entrance ramp. He radioed in that a car was speeding down the road. About 10 miles down the road, I ran into instant radar and my Escort radar detector came on. I managed to slow down to 98 before they clocked me. I knew I was nailed, and I didn't even wait for a cop to pull me over. I just pulled over to the side of the road by myself. That was a good thing, because they'd actually set up a road block for me. A big police-woman (she really looked like a pig) told me to get out of the car, and she threw me in the back of her cruiser. She took me to the police station, where they confiscated the $150 cash I had (which they never returned), and threw me in a holding cell with a bunch of hillbilly drunks. My girlfiend followed me to the police station. Good thing too, because she happened to be a top model, dressed in leopard tights (we were in a backwoods Maine town), and she had our cat on a leash. She managed to charm the Sargeant to the extent that he finally let me go after a few hours of being locked up, even though I didn't post bail.

On the day of my court hearing, there was a huge snow storm. I called the court and said I couldn't make my court date because of the snow. The court clerk put me on hold for a while, then got back on and told me that my fine would be equal to the $150 cash that had been confiscated (and never returned) when I was arrested. I never ended up with any points against my license, or any increase in my insurance.

Guess I can't run for president now!
