Does anyone have confidence that the General fixed the column lock problem? If so are you confident enough not to order and install the bypass. I can't decide. I'm starting to order some goodies for the new baby and don't know if I should order the bypass. What about you guys????

It's a toss-up. I'll probably take the gamble, especially since I'm also buying the GMPP plan. If it locks up, I'll deal with it. From the reports I've read, it seems as though there have been fewer problem reports in each successive model year.

I have seen a few 2001's who have had the column lock problem, so it is difficult to be totally confident. I will continue to play the odds that I won't have a problem, since I have had zero problems thus far.

I was not willing to take the chance of getting stuck somewhere waiting for a rollback to drag my Z up on and haul it in. So I got the column lock by pass. Cheap insurance not to be stranded. Took about 20 minutes to install. Just my two cents. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
