track results....514 RWHP & 505 TQ ATI

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ATI PROCHARGER /FORGED BOTTOM END/ A4 with a 3200 stall 3.42 gears and a shift kit.....I ran a best of 7.40 @ 98 mph 1/8 mile with a 2.20 60 " spinning all the way in first and most of second on 315-30-18 drag radials.....what would that be in a 1/4 and once I get some traction .what would the car run??

On the interstate the car will literaly run away from a R6... and run toe to toe with a 750

im interested in knowing how you got so much torque out of an ATI setup. I have a A&A P1, AFR heads, pretty large cam, and forged motor and only got 540 rwtq.

RE: more TQ from a centrifugal blower... more than likely its a function of a good torque converter which multiplies TQ better than a stick trans.

98mph is very solid. That should get you 128-129mph if you have a lock-up converter (at least if it locks up in 3rd gear). 7.40 ET in the 1/8th with the fact your MPH is that high will get you an 11.2 or so in the 1/4. A 1.8 60' and you'll run high-10s.

514 rwhp seems very low for a forged motor with a blower, you sure its not 614 rwhp?
He's probably still at 8psi or so.

Your numbers do seem a little odd...I am at 575 rwhp and 500 rwtq, was at 1/8 couple weeks ago , same results as you 2.20-s spun 1st 2nd and into 3rd... 99-101 mph i had my old F1-s on..

1/8th actual to 1/4 predicted use 1.54 to 1.56 conversion...
so...7.4 (1/8th) X 1.55 = 11.47 approximate for 1/4 ...
Becuase of traction problem and the way FI vettes pull in the top end of strip I suspect ET may be closer to 11.3 ... with traction i.e. at least a 1.7 60ft then expect high 10s.

did you heat DR up real good (?) and what air pressure did you run? those tires heated up and running 16lbs should have given better traction ... what was your launch method?

Ok. I am going to seem naieve here....I am seriously contemplating Heads/Cam. I have some good reasons.....But, what will pull harder at the track? SC, or H/C? I see some of you are running around the 500 mark. With a H/C set up at 440 rwhp, what will be the difference? Ugh....So many choices.....

Reaction times :-?

Reaction times has absolutely nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time.

H/C cars set up and tuned well do great at the drag strip. At 440 rwhp and the proper set up you have a chance at a 10 sec pass and many low 11's. I have never driven a supercharged Z at the drag strip so I'm not sure how they compare.
