I'm not sure about your question, but the prices are very close to MSRP. My MSRP was $48,885 with all options except yellow paint and museum delivery.

I would ask to see any and all paper work on the car before making an offer. They should have the original window sticke...see which dealer sold the car, ask them to check the VIN for any history of major repairs/accidents. Examine the car from top to bottom for any defects (with such low mileage, shouldn't be any), ask to test drive it, and if you are serious about buying it, offer what YOU are willing to pay.
Remember, any car is only worth what someone is willing to pay....if they balk, leave your name & phone and tell them to contact you if they change their mind....then walk away.

Hope this helps

I was talking to a guy who wants a 2002 and he has a 2001 Black Z06 w/ 400 miles on it and he thought he should get 46.

Hi Rapid from K.C.
I must use my appraiser at my store to answer that question, It came up before you asked. The Appraiser/Owner of our store told me the cars are not in the books yet and there could be changes in the market by the time (we) would have a new 2002 Z06 for sale.
My gut tells me that if people are willing to pay MSRP today for a 2001 (Brand New) that there would be a high value for a used 2001...subject to it's miles & condition.
I am told that "single digits" ex. 9,000 miles and under will bring the "real Corvette money" -VS- 10,000 & up. Here goes... I think that if I say what a Car Biz Guy would say there will be people upset with me but here goes any way..."Yes -I dont know!" How about I say a retail price for a used 2001 Z06 in great shape w/ really low miles & the right color might be 2500-4000. less than the 2002's Z06 MSRP. New car dealers pay 43 ish for one now but there is alot of "remarketing" going on with Non Franchise sellers. A new car dealer probably does not want to pay more for a used one than he would pay the factory, but -an individual would be happy to pay top dollar to get the hot ride and save a few bucks vs dealing w/ the hassle, uncertanty & additional cost of a new one. There it is -Sumo "out on a limb"& out of breath!

High Test
I knew a guy that liked to "buy" a car, sign all the paperwork and make NO payments on the car. His plan was to have a brand new car and run the crap out of it for a while until they came knocking on his door. This was a long time ago and he got away with it using aliases, etc. Either one of those cars or both could have been put through the same experience. As Zippy mentioned, these cars should be meticulously inspected prior to anyone buying one.
There are other reasons for low mileage "new cars" being turned back in (lost job, personal injury not related to the car, death!, etc.) but I'd spend a few bucks for an independent inspection service before I bought one.....

Enjoy!
