I misstated myself in an eariler post by saying that I had installed instant message. I installed PRIVATE message.

In order to maintain my integrity, of course I had to keep my word, so I just now installed INSTANT message.

So, the following forum features have been added:

1. Who's online
2. Member List
3. Private Message (Your inbox is on the main forum page)
4. INSTANT message (look at the icon at the top of a reply's header and you will see if the person is online or offline)
5. Print formatting icon/feature

Let me know what you think (good or bad), any suggestions, or any rants

More to come, stay tuned.

N4,

Pretty Hi-tech! I just celebrated by sending you both a private and and instant message. Stuff's pretty cool, but you may hate it when after a while instant messages pop up all the time when you sign on, complaining about little nitpicky stuff.

It's tough being the boss. I'll wait for your private reply, I have some questions about UBB for use on my fishing web site.

Any fishermen on this Forum?

JC,
I was over on the forum and noticed the stars on the left under the id. The number of stars goes with how many posts. What about something like that for over here?????
Maybe something other than stars???

I'm reviewing a few features based on their return vs. additional server load but I'm focusing for now on the main site which needs to launch soon. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress.

Thanks for the input.

JC,
As far as stars or even the number of post just make the board get filled with nothing post so some can increase their number as some kind of status.

JC,

Tom and I discussed this last night and I agree with him. I really don't see a significance in the post count. Sometimes people post on Forums just to make their count go up.

Please....no little stars or such gizmos.

I believe in 'quality' posts, not 'quantity'. Why some folks think that 4,000 posts makes them something special, is beyond me.

There......from an old fart.

Duntov7,
Thank you that is exactly what I was trying to say.
As of now with the great group of members we have now we do not have this problem, YET.
The way this excellent Forum is growing it will start, and I thought it would be a good idea to do away with the numbers while still young.
Do you think that some of those with 3000-4000 post had that much to say?
