Does anyone know if the Z06 tire repair process will work if I install chrome valve stems? Are there any negatives to switching from rubber stems to the chrome ones?

Hi there,
I do not have a can of the inflation chemical in front of me, so I cannot say for sure. Just remember, if you are using steel crome stems, that you tighten onto the rims, the rubber seal.
If that seal is made out of other substances, other than natural rubber, like maybe neoprene, you may have swelling. Please consult your can of repair chemical for any cautions.

Coffee?? What's that?

I'm honored and pleased to get a response on this from the noted specialist. Thanks for weighing in. I value your opinions highly. Do you think the composition of the pull through valve stem materials are likely to be different from the materials on the tighten the nut stems? I wouldn't think so. The interior of both should function the same so I don't believe this is an issue. Are there any wheel balancing issues with the slightly heavier chrome stem? Z06Y Lady, Stemming the tide. :)

Coffee is my only drink.

HI there,
The pull through chrome stems are fine, as they are natural rubber. No problem, and the chrome jacket is so slight of an increase, that you should not have to rebalance.
All they would have to do is pull the old stem, then compress the tire, to install the new one. Dont let them tell you that they have to remove the tire, they dont.

Coffee, Tea or ??

Thanks again,

The research on the stems is for new chrome wheels, so the installation is straightforward. Balance will be needed.
