Bob - Since you too have your build sheet, I am not questioning the 42# spread. I'ts been my understanding that as the model year progressed the diff between VIN and build sequence can get wider due to next model year pilot or prototype cars being sent down the line - not destined for sale to the public. I wonder if they put VIN#s on two early 2001 cars not originally intended for sale to the public?
Zippy - Your VIN and Sequence need a (1) in front of the 7. VIN must be 17786 which would indicate a start date of mid-afternoon on 1/2/2001. By the way - the numerical change between VIN and Sequence changed from 44 to 42 on Dec. 7th, 2000. Why is that?
My Vin is 12321. Making the sequence 12277.
Car was completed on 10-31-00.
Now how exactly do we find out which # Z06 we have?
"How can your car have a sequence of 7744 and built Jan. 01 when my car is 9028 built 10/03/00? Curious minds want know".
Now why is my Vin so much lower being completd the day AFTER his?
