Here is a mod I did to increase the POPUP of the trunk lid. I added a custom Design Specialties trunk insert (see below) and was concerned about the trunk lid not popping up with the added weight. My trunk has always worked fine but the extra weight had me worried.

Just installed and works pretty good but I don't have a long term report.

Nice, I WISH mine popped up that far....

I can't even get a fingernail under mine...My fix was to pop the trunk when exiting the car and close the door, thereby forcing the air to work for me...

Thus far, I have not found a solution to popping it when I walk up TO the car..

This started after they replaced my trunk shocks... /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_mad.gif

And, I have a horrible popping in my door....ugh...

Hi all,
Your lid should pop up at least 1 and a half, if not, have it checked, as there may not be enough lubricant in the latch.

Thanks, c4c5specialist - I sprayed some WD40 in the lock mechanism, and now it pops up nicely!

The trunk insert is probaly only 2 pounds, but it is positioned out from the hinges and making the shock/prop less effective.
