In keeping with this Forum's policy, we provide this post with a link to special pricing, free shipping and free bonus items on the Vortex Rammer by BPP from Exit28 for the changed MAF sized '01 cars including Z06. Dyno tests show a 15 HP gain over stock on Z06's. More gains on the 97-00 cars will be realized due to a further restricted airbox.

David,

The free(er) breathing '01s get a little less benefit from a different intake. The Vortex has shown about a 15 RWHP improvement on the dyno. RFC, on the CorvetteForum sent me his results as well as seeing a few others post who have installed cold air.

I just installed by BPP Vortex today. I had one on my 2000 Coupe as well.
There was a definite difference there. But haven't had a chance to run the Z with it yet, it's only been on the car for an hour.
Best run before the Vortex was 12.8 @ 115.
Only mod then was the Corsa Indys.
Takes only an hour or so to install it, less this time since I knew what I was doing.

Rich, thanks again. You guys are great over at Xtreme. Still waiting on the "you know whats though". /ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Did the install myself last week. Took me 2 hours. The toughest thing for me was getting the MAF air sensor off /ubb/smilies/mad.gif and cutting the shroud. (I left it on for the cut).

I feel the difference especially from the lower end. Great bang for the buck Mod./ubb/smilies/smile.gif/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Naaah!
Just get the Vortex, too close in comparison to spend twice as much on the Halltech. And the Vortex looks stock(if you get the black cover).

Sounds like something Jim Hall would say.

I see Jim deleted his 'water warning' associated with his bottom breather unit from the CorvetteForum. Very interesting thread he started. Lots of questions and answers in that thread on water ingestion and the halltech unit.

RG, he deleated it because people were bashing him, I think his product is great, but he was bashed because, by creating his topic, he contradicted everything he said in the past, he really had to put his foot in his mouth on that one, I think alot of people lost faith in him, I think its a shame, because he has a good product, but people thought they were being lied to all that time , so I guess I could see their point in bashing him. One thing that also bothered me was that it seems every other week he invents something new then claims how much more hp you can get with his new version, when in reality there is no more gain than the last greatest product, you can only take so much bull.
