There is a VY Z on display that is taking all kinds of abuse. The people crowded around this car have mobbed and mauled it. When it shows back up at a dealership for sale, be careful. The VIN # is 13886.

I'm sure someone will still pay $10K+ over MSRP for it anyway. Hell, used ones with 6K miles or more get that on eBay ....

A good "heads-up" for those in the market for a C6Z.
But not to worry - I'm sure the selling dealership will give it a good wipe down (with the same rag they used to wipe the mud off the Silverado 5 minutes beforehand) :D

How is the show? I hope to go today.
It's worth seeing. It is a "B" category car show, so you don't get the concept cars that travel to the "A" shows, and almost virtually everything you see could be seen at a dealership. That said, having the range of vehicles under one roof is a a terrific opportunity to see so many different cars without criss-crossing the DC Metro area. You enter on ground level, and can go down to the lower level, or up, as the show is on 2 floors. I would go down and do the lower level first, as you will find the exotica, euro iron, and a good assortment of domestics. The upper level, is anchored by GM on one end, and Ford on the other, with Dodge, Jaguar, Volvo, and Saab, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Toyota. There are duplicates of a lot of these on the lower level as well. If I did it again I would try to have at least 5-6 hours to do the show, and do the lower level first.

Sounds good. I went last year and had a blast. I wish I could make it today, but I have my SS listed for sale in the Washington Post and Cars.com. I'd hate to miss a buyer because I'm screwing off at the car show...

I went yesterday. It was really crowded, but I still enjoyed the whole scene. The Dodge Challenger concept looked very interesting with its 6.1 Liter engine and orange metallic paint. If they manufacture this car, it will be a winner. Dodge did a really nice job on this retro design. I think that the Chllenger design is much nicer than the Mustang retro design.

I also liked seeing the Porsche GT and the Aston Martin Vanguard. If I were a rich executive, I would have the Vanguard for my weekend car, the GT as my DE car, and an Audi A8 for my daily driver!

People were swarming over the new Zo6. In fact, it was difficult to get a good feel for the car with so many people crawling around it. However, after seeing a C6 Z in person, I am perfectly happy with my 04 Z for now. I am not sure I like the sharper more angluar lines of the new body. I perfer the smoother flowing lines of the C5 Z. The C6 Z is undoubtedly faster and handles better than a C5 Z, but the price will keep me on the sidelines.

For more mundane daily driving, the new Impala SS and the Toyota Camary looked like nice family cars.

Yes, i was there on Saturday and YES, that Z06 was SERIOUSLY abused. I mean i saw one dude try to open the passenger door. He yanked that handle so hard i could have sworn i heard something pop. The Door was locked..... It was interesting listening to some people there thinking the c6 was the Z06. Overal the show was a nice one. It was my first show but i was expecting those concerpt cars that you see in California auto shows all the time. Like someone said most of the cars there could have been found in just about any dealership.

I was there on saturday with Britt. That poor yellow C6Z was seriously abused. :(
I liked the purple 1970 challenger vert that was next to the concept. And the Saturn Sky looks sooooooooo much better than the solstice! :yeadog:
Tony, Keith and Carol were there in the Tony's corvette's display. Had John Carter's black Z06 with it's cool nitrous 427! :thumb:

me, Sunday, there:cheers: I sat in it like everyone else, the seating is better and the shifter is smoother, like porsche BMW smooth, the button to press to open the door from the inside was very suprising and interesting...

I like the Vanquish S, carrera Gt and M6. Im in the market for a 4 door luxury pick up so it was nice to see all of my options in one place!

I agree, the SKY is much better looking than the Solstice. The other Saturn concept sedan look nice too. I missed Tony's display. Was it on the first floor?
