Gary, welcome!!!! You can polish/wax your car as soon as you want, make sure whatever product you use that it does not contain abrasives, the paint and clear coat is very soft on these cars and scratches easy.

I would suggest you use a good clay bar while washing the car.
You will be really satisfied with the results. After that put a coat of Zaino (easiest to use, I think I have tried them all). Top it off with their topcoar gloss enhancer. Turn off the garage light and look at the glow. Zaino seems to make the cone marks come off a little easier. And yes I know your not suppose to hit the cones.

I have a black 02 and did the whole zaino thing clay bar and all. I never had black before but the car looks better then when i picked it up and was pretty easy to use I wouldnt use anythhing else just try it you will not be sorry.
