Hi everyone,

I'm a senior at NYU undergrad b-school, I was wondering what some of you guys did for a living?

And also is it possible for you guys to tell me what your monthly payments on a Z06 and what you put as a down payment? Partly b/c when I graduate I'm strongly considering getting this car.

P.S. Insurance won't be a problem, it will be under my grandmother's name =)

I'm an Internet programmer for a big investment company in Houston.

As far as monthly payments, that's going to depend on a lot of factors. I'm not sure that the numbers really mean anything. Let's just say that I have a manageable payment. I went with the smartbuy and put down about $10K. I plan to keep it and I'll pay it off in 3 years.

I administor this forum. The pay is fantastic!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

Car payments are going to vary on how much you put down and how long you want to pay. My Zs were relatively cheap because I traded 2 '99 Hardtops in on them, and they were paid for.

Welcome aboard !

Primarily, I just goof off all day - at least that's what my wife keeps telling me.

No payment or lease on our z06 - we own ours outright. It's cheaper to borrow from our checking account than from a bank /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm a computer game programmer but I've only been doing this job for 1 year and before that I was in college. I'm planning to finance my Z06 with a minimum downpayment and I expect my payments to be around $1000 a month. If I didn't buy all these other cars I'd have a lot more money for the downpayment, but then again I don't think I could qualify for a Z06 loan as a first time buyer. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I am an associate at an economics consulting firm. I am 24 and will pick up my Z at the museum hopefully in Sept (I think Oct might be realistic).
My payments should be around 850-950, depending on how much I get down. I am shooting for 7-9k.
My friends are telling me to buy a house. I tell them that if they are lucky their wives will let them come out and play with me. A young unmarried guy out with a shiny Z. Let's just say they are jealous.

I owned a Tool and Die company that employed 150 people, I had very good people working with me, that allowed me to retire 5 years ago. For 15 years I owned a national detail chain that I owned as a silent partner, and sold in 1997.

NYUAZNGUY, I'm sure you can find a loan calculator on the web[E-LOAN ETC]. Probably not to smart but I do not have any loans on anything I own. 8 years ago at age 36 I had a serious bout with cancer[Bone Marrow Transplant and prayers saved me]. Since then, I never wanted to leave my family with any type of debt or loan of any nature regardless of my decent assets. As for what I do for a living, I buy mods all day long! LOL! Welcome and all the best in the future! FUBU69/LES

Do for a living? I rob banks at night, 'cause that's where the money is.

During the day I work as a senior computer specialist for Treasury, in good 'ol Washington, D.C. - home of the lying, skirt chasing politicians!!

I'm the CEO of a Mortgage Banking company. I wrote a check for the car, but at the risk of disagreeing with a previous poster, I would buy a home before spending $50k for a car. Especially one you finance. Just my 2 cents.

Interesting,

I didn't know Frank was making so much money on this site. You dog!

Less (FUBA)I hope you are beyond your medical problems, I appreciate your dedication to your family.

As for me, I am an industrial coating manager(travel my ass off) and waited until I was 40 to save up to buy my first Vette and wrote a check. Not rich, but believe in the power of saving and compond interest.
