Help! I'm out of control /ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif The last two days I have been so lucky. (Must be that time of the month to pay the bills cuz...) I would have been caught /ubb/smilies/redface.gif numerous times by radar or laser the last two days while out driving. Luckily for me someone else was already being ticketed. /ubb/smilies/frown.gif

But now I know I need a radar detector because I cannot go slow in this car and any amount of heads up may save me money as well as points on my license /ubb/smilies/mad.gif

So any advise is welcome. Thanks in advance.

For sure, the V1. Don't leave home without it.

V1 by a large margin, I have a drawer full of other detectors and nothing than I have was even close, not cheap but worth the price in my opinion./ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Kevin:

That's a tough question. It seems all the replies clearly favor the Valentine 1. I've been driving the highways of MD now for two years in the M3 and I average around 85 to 90 mph, and I frequently drive the NJ Turnpike at around 95 to 100 all under the protection of my Bell 855Sti, which is an older model. It has saved my butt several times.

Since my new Z will be the same color as yours, Arrest-Me-Red, I've been giving considerable thought to this issue. Clearly a T/R Z06 will draw far more attention than my Black M3 does, so I won't be able to "blend in" any more. I believe that I'll have to purchase a new detector when the Z arrives in a few weeks or so, but I'm still up in the air about which way to go. Either the newest and best Bell or the V1. Www.radartest.com rates the new Bell above the V1, but their reasons are a bit weak. Valentine makes some great arguments for the V1 on his site, so I guess I'm not much help. Other than what I've experienced with my Bell so far. Maybe soome of the Forum members have had experience with both detectors.

Hard wired my V1 during Christmas holidays. Love the bogey counter and directional arrows.

The valentin does have one drawback when the lights in the directional arowes burn out you have to send it back to replace them.I guess this is only a problem for procrastinators like me.
