I have a '99.

After engine has sat all night and then testing the fuel pressure at the rail by just turning the ign key on, mine reads 49.5 lbs.

Start engine and let idle, reads 58 lbs.

Turn engine off, reads 49.2 lbs

  • What does yours read ? and
What is the exact specs it should be ?

For MY '99 is different then 97-98s, how can that be adjusted when for '99 the regulator is part of the fuel filter at the back of car ?

In doing many autotap traces B1 -left head is always 1 to 2% leaner then B2 - right head is. Reasons ?

Thanks

Hey John,
Spec is 55-61, running. YOu are right within spec.
As for the rest, variances in intake runners, head ports, or o2 sensors them selves.
Just remember that fule trim changes all the time, as this is how it works. If you are only 1-2% off, racing is the only place you would have issues.
Best to you, c4c5

Hi Paul,
I thought per service manual that 55-61 was only with engine off,
if so mine is about 50 lbs.
Why no way to adjust the fuel pressure ?

I understand the numbers for cells change realtime but in looking at 40 PCM traces, the average of B1 and B2, B1 is always leaner, in every run thus that is a constant and not by chance.
2% percent lean over right head can be a issue when the parameters are right at the edge of its functioning window esp when in WOT where then due to one head being too lean and causing the knock.

I am seeing way too much knock when in WOT and that KR then effects WOT timing.

What is an average timing lets say at highway speeds ?
Mine is about 40 degrees.
Under WOT timing is about 22-24 degrees due to KR.

Yes, for racing, drag racing this 4th and weather is 100 degrees so knock is a concern and I cannot tune KR out via MAFT /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I am testing SVO #30 injectors so trying to tune this is a chore /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Maybe Cole's PCM code putting in too much timing for base and preventing increased timing ( around 30 degrees) in WOT ?

Thanks
