I have been hoping GM would be bringing out a new color of blue (Electron) & more HP for 2002 like I have been hearing rumors about for some time now. I am starting to realize how glad I am that I have waited on making this decision.
When might we expect to see the actual color? When does GM officially release the 2002 models?
I know it is only March, but want to start planning ahead. I appreciate your help!
The 02s will start comming off the line in mid to late July, after the plant returns from their two week vacation. You should be able to preview the new colors prior to that time however.
I received my Z on July 31st. Some people got theirs a week earlier. If they stick to last years schedule, allocations will open in early May and delivery will be in late July. Depending on whether your dealer has a large allocation. Expect information around the 1st of June, but info has a tendency to leak a few weeks before.

I'd bet a panel or two shot with Electron Blue might be seen at the forum get together at Bowling Green. Maybe someone will have a camera handy if that happens.

The BG assembly plant is scheduled to shut down for two weeks beginning July 2nd. They return to work on July 16th. My guess is that 2002 Vets will be built before July 2nd, but shipping may not start until after July 16th.
BTW, if anyone takes the plant tour, make sure to keep your eyes and ears open, because they most likely will build "pilot" vehicles well before production release.

I always take the tour of the plant at least once per year. Infact I saw about 20 or so yellow Z06's that were used for media last June. I will be taking the tour once again around the week of June 10th.
As always, my eyes are open in this plant.
