My turn for a dumb question. How safe are old tires, specif. BFG GS-C's from a C-4, circa 1995?
Had a track day yest, and and due to procrastination issue, mixed my F-1 SC rears, 44 hot, with those old BFG's 43 hot(death wish?) whupped it up to about 130 on the front straight, 100 downhill to 3A, sang all the way thru the back esses. My heart was in my mouth braking for 2 from 130. Took it "easy", usu I am ~140+ into T-2 braking zone. I had good braking(did I mention street pads?) all day long, and today saw a good heat pattern on all 4 when I took em off to look at the brakes. They felt good all day, too.
So, what do you guys think, will being cheap give me regrets

Doesn't matter how much tread is left on them, they are not good for anything but Car Shows or Parades after about 3 years. They get hard and Vulcanize

Goodyear made GSC tire not BFG.

10 year old tires at 130 MPH sounds kind of scary. I thought I was cheap trying to squeeze 3 seasons out of tires. :D
