In the May issue of Vette Magazine p16 the Z06 is listed in #10 position. The writer, Mike Kitain, states "the new one will very likely be produced in too great a volume to drive up it's future values. Buy this one for it's immediate ---- and intense --- gratification!

If someone is willing to scan and post this article, I would be interested in seeing it.

Is the #10 spot high on the list for re-sale value?

Mark

I don't know about a ZO6 as an investment, but I do know, my car was worth a 1000.00 more than I paid for it about a month after I took delivery, thanks to the GM price increase.

My car is fully paid for, and for awhile I felt a bit guilty putting all that $$ in a depreciating asset. But with the stock market in the toilet, I feel better now./phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
Glad I bought it when I did. A lot of people's profits are in "money heaven" right now. Mine is sitting in my garage. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Dennis, I'm in the same boat, paid cash for it from stock money. Most people said I was stupid for cashing in when I did. "The market will double next year"...HAHAHAHA

Look where they are now. Stocks are worth nothing. As least I enjoyed mine for a year and remember it every time I drive the car.

i did the same thing sold my rental property
paid cash for my z had it since aug.
not one dime went into the stock market
no fun watching your investments go down the tube!!
Actually, I paid cash for my 98 coupe back at the end of 97. While I can't say the mods were the best investment, they did help me maintain the value of the car. I sold the car this December for $4000 over sticker. (Trick wheels, ground effects, stripe, stereo etc.)

But, all in all, considering what you usually lose on a car, buying a Vette cash is not a bad idea. Especially when you consider the fun factor. But, I keep sticking the same $40K in vettes and I've always got a "new" car to drive.

You could do worse. :sneaky:
