The Solo II national championships are this week.

The Stock class Corvettes will run on Thursday and Friday. The exact time doesn't seem to be posted.

This event is scheduled for live webcast:

http://www.peavey.com/html/events.html

They will be running other classes tomorrow, so check it out and get ready for Thursday..

There are 54 entrants in the Super Stock class, 46 of them are Corvettes. 29 admitted to driving a 2001 Z06 (2002 is not yet legal).

46 Corvettes (29 Z06)
5 Porsche Boxter S (This model came in 2nd last year)
1 RX-7
1 BMW M3
1 '77 Mustang MiniBoss (??)

HALF of the entrants are in Z06s. Wow! So much for getting an advantage with your Z, eh?? That competition should be fierce!

Looks like 9 of the Z06 drivers are co-driving a car, so that's 20 Z's. I really wanna go next year..

What happened to all those RX-7's in the 90's?? Have they all broken or worn out?

Only 2 C4's are entered this year. An '86 L98 took 5th last year. That's amazing considering how long the Corvette's competitors have had to try and build something quicker.

The event has been delayed. Looks like they will start running on Thursday.

That should have the Z's dominating, err running, on Saturday and Sunday :D

Okay.. The webcast is now running, audio only.

But I can't hear the cars! I was hoping we'd hear the cars :( You only get the announcer. Since I have friends running, that is still pretty cool..

Hopefully we'll be able to hear them when something louder than a Miata is running..

It is very good that they got to run the event at all. Part of that base is National Guard.
