Z06 Gets Respect - Ford Views Z06 as Benchmark for Its Pricier Cobra R Model

Frank will like this one. I just got my issue of SVT Enthusiast, a magazine subscription that came with the purchase of my departed Cobra Mustang. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif Yes I did own a Ford. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif Anyway, I like the way the first page of the magazine says "[t]he 2000 Cobra R has proven itself as a worth competitor to the likes of the Corvette Z06 and Viper GTS ACR." Apparently Ford appears to view the Z06 as a benchmark to try to live up to. I think its pretty cool that they are implying that their car, which costs quite a bit more, can live up to the famed Z06. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif Funny thing about that is the Cobra R came out before the Z06 did and they won't be making any more of them. R models tend to come out once every few years and they only produce a couple hundred of them. It seems the Z06 has gained respect pretty quickly. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
