Well, I think the Vette driver must have sucked, the Elise was damn close until the long straight away where the Vette said SEEYA!
The Elise guy had his honed out and looked as if he was ready to give up.

I got cable internet access about 2 months ago and is it worth it....took about 30 seconds to download the whole video....surely one of the best I have ever seen.

One question...was that Z06 stock and how much HP does the Lotus have? It was amazing, because the Lotus had the edge in handling through the curves but not enough power to get by the Z06. However, on the straightaways the Z06 just crushed the Lotus and surely would have passed it easily.

It is a stock Z06 and a race prepared Elise.
My reaction was the Vette driver had to be pretty decent considering that Elises are considered one of the best handling cars in the world and this elise is race prepared!

A stock Elise sport specs are 0-60 4.3 sec and 143 m.p.h. The h.p. is around 200 amd redline 8k-9k. So race prepared I'm not sure and the Elises are light as all get out. I don't know what race preparations were done to the Elise in the video but the reaction of the driver is golden.

But all I can say is where is MY Z06?? I am salivating.

WOW!! Thanks for the great video. Thank God I have a Cable Modem!! It would be interesting to no end to know what the Elise Driver had to say about the stock Z's racing prowess.....anyone translate the German spoken at the end of the video as the driver was exiting the Elise?

I thought the Z driver did a fairly good job. He took it to the limit in the corners almost losing it a couple of times.

You must be one hell of a driver if you think the guy racing the Z06 "sucks". I'm curious, how many years you been racing?

I thought the Elise driver was a pretty good sport, he was even laughing about the Z06 top speed advantage. I'm pretty sure both these drivers have done MANY laps at the Nurbergring judging by their lines.

Why does everybody think that the Vette's a Z06? Exactly 9 min 39 seconds into the video, you get a good closeup three quarters rear view of the car and there are no brake scoops! If I hadn't been told otherwise, I'd say it was a standard C5!

1) that was a damn good C5 driver
2) would a Z06 leave no mercy

LMAO! before i didnt see the last part. hahahahahaha! the guy in the lotus was all happy and smiling then they got on that straightaway and the vette just went out of sight. that guys expression was so funny. i literally fell off of my chair. the vette almost lost it a couple times though but god the lotus drivers expression was hilarious.

Stock C5 and racing Elise, both owned by RED, a tuner/dealer in Germany.

345 LS1 and Z06 styled wheels, red stripe package. The racing Elise is a very good handling car, super light, 200HP. The street version of the Elise is thought by many to be the best handling production sports car on the planet.

Both drivers are very good, the North course at the 'ring is legendary and a tough drive at speed.

The C5 does excellently in this Vid.
