Thanks to all who have led me to my sequence #3503 and providing the info to get verification on my build date of Aug-03-01 from GM.

I'm wondering if anyone could take an educated guess at what production number Z06 I might have?

And any idea when the 02 production line started for the C5's?

Thanks again for the educational info.

george, if 15% of all '02s are Z06's, then yours is approx 525th. Production started in June, then went on a two week hiatus (which is normal), and has been up ever since.

If I recall, '02 production started the last week of June. My car was #1005 produced in mid July. Number I heard at BG was 1 out 5 was a Z.

My '02 Z is seq. #2677, on the drivers door it shows 08/01 for a built date. I know that BG production rate is around 135 Corvettes per day. If George's Z was produced 8/3/01 and has a seq.# of 3503, could mine of been really produced in July '01?:-?

Manatee,
My vin#2677 (last digits in vin#) which I always thought were the sequence numbers.

The sequence # is different from the VIN. Take the last 5 digits of the VIN and add 728 to get the sequence number. The sequence number will also be stamped on one or more of the tires (right rear on mine) and is also displayed on a tag beneath the battery.

Jul 15th diff was 28
Jul 20th diff was 729
Aug 1st diff was 752
Sep 4th diff was 728
Nov 1st diff was 728
Nov 29th diff is 729

go figure ..... it's confusing. Maybe my source has a few typos.

Thanks Jerry,
Your absolutely right! My last 5 digits on my vin# is 02677 and I added 728 to it which comes out to 3405. I then checked my right rear tire, sure enough, is stamped 3405. I also called Chevrolet Customer service and found out the car was produced on 8/3/01.
The same day as George's Z.
