I had no idea Blighty was such a small crowded island... I know of at leat 100 "1000 yard" stretches in and around Houston where you can "safely reach 146mph"... in fact I even know of a few 5,000 yard stretches..Britons Mark Newby and Colin Fallows have accelerated their car to 146 mph (235 kph) in just 1,000 yards (meters) -- the longest, safest distance available to them in England. They say the test showed they can easily beat the world record.
