I applied the z1 then z5 and waited about 12 hrs before I removed them. After buffing I noticed some small spots that were removable if I buffed really hard. I then used the gloss enhancer and it removed the spots easily. Is this a common deal? I also did 2 dawn car washes and the clay bar first.Any advice would help as I plan another z5 coat tonight. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

SHOE, it sounds to me that you may have put the Z5 on too thick. Use the Z6 to remove the residue. I like to re-wash with the Zaino car wash after I remove the Z2 or Z5 then use Z6. I haven't had much luck with this wax. It doesn't seem to dry (ever), and fogs in the sunlight with the gloss enhancer. I have just used the dawn on it and its gone. I going to my old stand by Mcguires. I have never had this problem on other black caes.

SHOE, I also just applied Zaino to my new black Z06...and the drying time was quite a while. I think ZEE 06 hit it though, thin seems to be the key. I left the Z1/Z5 combo to bake in the TX sun at 102 degrees at 22% humidity for 3 hours. Mano, that will cook just about anything. After 3 hours I got impatient and buffed it out; it took another 2 hours of smearing it around to get it took look OK. The "Tips" sheet that came with the Zaino mentioned that humidity is a killer but 22% isn't much...I plan on going way light on the next coat. Hopefully that will help the drying times.
Long drying aside, the finish does look great...but it seems to me this was definately formulated for the guys who like spending 4 hours buffing on their car. I don't mind a little buffing, but I'd rather spend the time driving!!!

I called the guys at Zaino and they said it was humidity spots under the wax. It comes off with the z6 so I guess it's not a big deal. I agree that the drying time is forever /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif I plan on waiting overnight for the next coats /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Don't give up so easily. When I first put Zaino on my TR Z, I applied it way too thick. I called Carl asking him how to get this crap off my car because it looked terrible, but he told me to chill and wipe the car down with a damp cloth and start over. But this time I needed to go real thin so thin I could barely tell the Z1/Z5 was there. I followed his advice despite my skepticism, and it worked amazingly well. When Zaino is applied right, it is very easy to work with, no buffing at all and the shine is amazing.

SHOE, you probably applied a little too much in the areas that you described, and it never dried, this happens to people when they are doing the Z-1/Z-2 treatment, we have a new product coming out in the next month or so that will solve this problem. As said very thin coats is the key with Zaino

Guys just wondering but from start to finish how long did it take???
I know the longest it ever took me to wash my Explorer was about 6-7 hours and I only do that twice a year, other times maybe 2 hours....I learned my lesson on the 6 hour day because I took it to my girlfriend's to show off how absolutley beutiful it was and while sitting in her house I heard little pings on the window. As I went to the window /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_flaming.gif NOOOOOOO its raining, so I ran to the car and garaged it, wiped it down and luckily it still looked good /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If I wash my Vette and then Zaino it, probably will take about 2-3 hours with doing the interior. I washed and applied 3 coats of the new Zaino about 3 weeks ago and it took me 2 1/2 hourse total with dry time, it depends on how humid it is.

I never had any problem. 5 coats of Z2 on my Z06, 2 coats of Z5 on my vert, 2 coats of Z5 on girlfriend's car, and 1 coat of Z2 on the truck (of course 1 coat of Z1 on every car). They go on and wipes off with ease. Takes about 2.5 hrs for Z1/Z2 combo. I always do it in the garage. Never in direct sunlight, not in TX.

I just used Zaino on my old Boss Mustang and am very happy with the results. The prep was the hard work and when I was happy with the cleanliness of the car, I applied the Zaino. First the Z5, twice and then 3 coats of Z2. Let me tell you, this car shines deep and looks BETTER than new. Future coats will be less work, and yes, thinner is better! Oh yeah, THANKS CARL!!!!!!!!

Well it's really hot/humid here in GA so I'm putting the z5 on at around 8pm then I'm taking it off at 7am.This seems to be working pretty good and I've decreased the amount I'm using down to a bare min. The z6 took the little spots out after a bunch of buffing /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif at least it's giving me a good work-out twice a day /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

You're not suppose to buff anything. This is the easiest stuff to put on and wipe off. No buffings.................. I can apply Z6 and wipe it off on my Z for 15 minutes..... Don't know why you are having so much trouble with it. Did you read the instructions?

Good luck

Yes I know how to use the z6...but I'm using it to remove a few water spots under the first coat of z1.If I just spray it on and wipe it off the small drops remain but if I put a little effort in it they dissappear. The work out and other buffing is from removing the z5 every morning...it's taken me a couple of tries before I've gotten the correct ammount to use figured out. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

You're right SHOE, Z5 does take a little bit more effort. Glad that you got it all down.
