I just read: http://www.spdkilz.com/techtipcarcare.html

A great write up on car cleaning and products.

I have one question.

Do you only use ZFX the first time you use Z-2 or Z-5 on a stripped (Dawned) car? I've been using it every time I use Z2 or Z5 because I thought it reduced or eliminated the the wait time for the haze to appear. That way you can use it in colder weather, etc.

Have I been wrong for three years? DOH!

ZFX is indeed an accelerator, and enables the polish to cure more rapidly.......additionally, it enables you to apply up to 3 coats of polish within 24 hours...

I probably use it 75% of the time; however, there are times that I'm not in a hurry and just have a cold 'n frosty (or 2) while it cures...

Your understanding is correct. Z1 or ZFX must be used the first time. Then it's ZFX is optional.
