I've got the garage heater on and set at 72.......done the clay, Z1, one Z5 and one Z2 with Z6 between coats since yesterday......is it imperative to wait 24 hours before another coat of Z2?....I want to keep on going......there is conflicting info that says to just wait 8 hours if temp. is above 70. Will it hurt to keep going with Z2&Z6?.....Thanks

The "key" is to make sure it's DRY between coats. If you can rub the Z2 off with a dry finger and it doesn't smear, it's ready to be buffed. If it smears, give it more time. Also, the humidity has a large effect on drying time (as well as temp). If you are in Arizona, you can put a new coat on in 2 hours!

If your garage is 70 plus degrees and it's not that humid I do not wait more than 4 hours between coats.

Good info...thanks. I'd been waiting the full 24 hours. Now I'll dive in after completely drying!

I've found that I get the best results when I put a coat on in the morning and let it dry until I come home in the evening. However, I have been known to put 2 coats/day on when preparing for a show.

BTW, I never use Z6 anymore. All it does it smear the shine on my car for some reason. I also hardly ever use Z2 anymore. Z5 shines as well as Z2 but also takes out swirl marks.
