True Story:

I went to the CART Michigan 500 race practice yesterday at Michigan International Speedway. As usual, I bought a pit pass and enjoyed watching the pit crews/drivers from pit lane. While watching Mario from Michael's pit I had an idea....

I had one of Frank Calmes Z06vette.com business cards in my wallet (thanks, Frank!) and I wrote a short note identifying the forum and inviting Mario to check it out.
Ok so far, but I did not want to pester Mario while he was clocking his son on the track, so I handed one of the mechanics the business card and kindly asked him to give it to Mario at a convenient time. The mechanic then approaches Mario and hands him the card, which Mario reads and puts in his pocket. Then Mario casually turns around and looks toward the people lined up behind the pit stanchions...I then gave him a big smile and the thumbs up sign. Mario smiles back at me and returns his attention to the track.

So we'll see what happens next.

Actually, I talked to my good friend Zippy last night on the phone. He's got a bigger and better story than just giving Mario the card. Sounds like you had a blast!!

It's tired and I'm late....the other story about my 121 mph ride arond the 2 mile hi-banked oval will be posted tomorrow....good nite gang!

It would be great for the "GREAT ONE" to be on our forum. It would be an honor and a privilege.

I've always enjoyed watching Mr. Andretti race, especially when racing alongside his son, Michael.

I'm a huge fan of both.

By the way, I believe that Mario Andretti is the leader in the annual Running ofthe Bulls", Lamgorghini run in California.
