For all those ZO6 owners that like the lightness and strength of the ZO6 rim and want the shinny surface of chrome..but not the down sides of chrome..ie..chroming process changes metal properties...flaking off of chrome..etc..(this is what I've heard)

How come you don't have them high polished for 100 dollars a rim?

Of course the guys that like the gun metal brake dust color..please don't take offense..

I'm just trying to figure out why..at 100 dollars a rim..you can have each wheel high polished and clear coated..they will even mount and balance the tires for like 10 or 20 dollars each..

If you can't tell...I think the ZO6 rims are hot!

Personally...I think high polish and clear coated for a 100 a rim sounds like the best deal..btw..they come with a lifetime guarantee...out in Farmingdale Long Island NY..

Let me know what you think? And why?

The high polish would work for me...except for the fact that while the rims are being polished my car would be on jack stands in the garage! But fo rthe price ...it sounds pretty good...where is this place that polishes for 100 bucks a rim?

Farmingdale Long Island New York.. I spoke with Lauren earlier in the year.....Sounds like a good plan if you can spare the down time on the car...I gotthe impression they move pretty quickly...

Hell half the C5 community has 97 to 99 rims with old runflats laying around in their garage for you to borrow short term....

I felt comfortable as I spoke to them with regards to their customers concerns. ...

Just shooting the breeze on different ideas.

Clear-coat over high polish? Is this a normal process? I didn't think it was -- or I'd think that every high polish manufacturer would get their rims nice and polished, and then throw clear-coar over them. But, as far as I know, this isn't the case.

What gives? Sounds great if they could do it! No more working to keep 'em bright, or what?

2000 and 2001 high polish rims for Convertible and fastback come with either painted or as an option High polish. They clear coat the high polish as well..

The problem would be in the cap. What do you do with it, it isn't metal so it can't be polished, I guess you could chrome it but it would definitely be shiner than the high polished wheels. Also, you have to attest to the caps on the lugs which are also plastic, or get new chrome lug nuts which aren't as nice as the OEM lugs with caps.

Interesting points...I guess I would go with chrome cap and lug nuts...actually I bet Performance wheel outlet sells the polished center piece for like 40 bucks a set..

I've heard their wheels are not the best weight but the center piece and lugnuts being polished would probably work out great...

Good point about the center cap..

Thanks.

I like my wheels just the way they are. The color is not flashy, and hides the brake dust between wash jobs. It is all business.

I think it would look very nice. The center cap issue not sure on that one. My 94 Impala rims where polished with a clearcoat and I very had problems with them. The clearcoat takes a little bit of the shine away but without it you would have to polish the rim constantly. I know AAA Rims sell rims that are polished with a clearcoat. Maybe they can do a GP if we get enough people involved.
