ZO6 Service Manuals

I was concerned with the reference on page 3-98; the Wheel Installation instructions have CHANGED from the previous C5 manuals...specifically, the *Torque* setting for Wheel installation tightening is now 140 lb.ft. (WAS 100 lb.ft. for many years). They 'do' now illustrate the numerical "criss-cross pattern" of nut tightening.

Wow! I am surprised they don't have more info in the service manuals. There are a lot of tech differences in the car, not just the LS6. (camber settings, trans overtemp, etc)
I had planned to buy a set when my car comes in..... I think I'll pass for now.... Thanks for the tip!

To be added - Ripper, Flameball, license frame, exhaust plate Z06
Thanks for you replies. I guess I'm not the only seeing a lack of information regarding the O6.
Anyone else have their service manuals? I was thumbing through mine and I think I got the wrong ones because I didnt see any O6 specific information. Is this normal? I ordered them through Fichtner.
Z06-01:

There is no specific Z06 service manual. There is info in the engine book realative to the LS6 etc. I was unable to find much else in my books specific to the Z06, but there most likely is, as you go thru it.
Speaking of the Ripper. Let us know if you see a rubber band when you remove the stock shifter. We couldn't figure out why it was there, but both mine and a friend's ZO6 had the rubber band there. When I received my manuals it indicates that the rubber bands are used to hold something, forget what, in place till you bolt it up. Looks like GM doesn't take the time to remove them.

I wouldn't necessarily pass on the manuals just because they are not Z06 specific. There are still many more similarities than differences between our cars and the Verts and Coupes.

Dennis,
Yeah, I've been re-thinking that decision. I'll probably go ahead and get them since I'll need wiring harness info, etc. I don't plan on any "major" changes up front, but you know how the "mod bug" can get ya!

Glad I got the manuals. Received my Ripper shifter yesterday, absolutely no instructions included with it. Looking through the services manuals should make this an easy job.

There are some really good directions for installing the Ripper in the tech section. Has pictures and all.... I printed them out and will use them when I install mine in about a week..... now where's that flameball....
