ive always had a very shady idea of how torque works? i know torque by defintion is the force vector that acts on an axle and cuases rotary motion. but what is it? if someoen said they have such and such torque wat does it mean? if we have the same identical cars same hp but differnet tq what would be the differnce? and does tq make your car burnout? if someone could explain it throughly would numbers that would be great! possibly an engineer:lol: i need to know!

thanks guys

i think i grasp the concept of the torque and horsepower now. torque is the force that makes the car move and thus it is the sole determiner of acceleration. horsepower is the rate at which work is done and thus it is how much (horse)POWER you have. according to the logical reasoning in the article high end torque is always welcome becuase it makes it possible to utilize gearing to ahceinve maximum horsepower.

got it right?
