Halltech Carbon Fiber MAG

We have been receiving many calls on our Halltech Carbon Fiber MAG, requesting that we bring it back.

We are looking at this possibility, but need support from forum members and vendors.

The problem is timing and cost. In order to keep the cost of producing the MAG down, we must order enough material to do 100 MAGs at a time. The shelf life of the material is 60 days, so we must make everything (5 units per day) within that period of time or the pre-preg material goes bad, and it's not cheap.

If there was a group purchase on these units, we could make this happen.

For those that do not know the MAG (Max Airflow Generator), Halltech was the first company to develop the airbridge back in 1999. We spent many hours on the dyno with different designs prior to finding one that really made power. How much?

On a stock C5: 3 RWHP
Z06: 5 to 6 RWHP
Modified Z06 with our T-1 intake or TRIC 10 RWHP to 15 RWHP.

A pre-purchase forum price would be $399.00 each. The MAG comes with a 100mm transitional Red Silicone coupler tube, eliminating the accordion connection, a new GM F-Seal for the MAF (Good even with 10 PSI Boost), and stainless steel clamps.

I have a poll here for those that might be interested. Our dealers are very interested, so let us know.

They come with the Red Z06 logo, or not.

Jim,

1. I will take 2, without the red logo.

More importantly I would really like them in the RED Carbon Fiber cloth that you had offered before, if possible. Extra cost??

2. I will also need the coil relocation mounts and

3. the Magnecor KV85 "extended" wires for the relocated coils.

I am thinking about the light weight alternator as well.

I will probably need this by mid March.

We are currently waiting for the new SCCA SoloII rules for the new National SM2 (Street Modified 2) class.

We are planing either a 427 C5R or a bored and stroked LS6. For the heads we are looking at the C5R heads but instead of the Kinsler C5R FI and intake manifold(s) and airboxes we are considering dual Cobra's feeding dual TB's with a balance tube feeding custom twin airbox manifolds.

Those 2 RED Cobra's sure would look nice feeding twin TB's !!!!!

Are there any other modifications than simply sliding the air box over the stock fittings? :-?
That's pretty much it. The stock MAF fits very snugly into the mouth of the MAG, the Red Silicone boot slides over the TB.

That's it. It is a direct replacement for the stock airbridge cobra.

We have a lot of logos. We tried the same logo on the T-1C, but the polyurethane is too slippery.

It sticks on the carbon fiber forever.

This carbon fiber is not cold laid, it is autoclave cured for 12 hours, thus the 5 per day limit.

If we get 25 orders, it will be worth putting a fire into the autoclave again.

Do you or does anyone have any dyno slips of this mod? Looks cool, must perform.
Dyno slips for a claimed @ 3-5 hp mod? C'mon now. :D Take Jim's word for it (I really don't think dyno slips are necessary!).

This thing is beautiful, looks killer atop the engine, has a coupler that matches the rail covers perfectly, and flows more air more smoothly than the factory piece mated to that accordian coupler. It's benefits are clear, ever without dyno slips. ;)

This is a really good looking piece folks!

I had one on my 2000 FRC and the look was remarkable. I have the T1C now and the look is nice but nowhere in the same realm at all.

I'd love to see this piece come back.

Hey Jim?? Any chance of a run of titanium elbows @ the airfilter connection for us T1 guys in the future? I'd be interested if the price were sub stratospheric...

That would not be too difficult. The titaium TRICs were very expensive to make ($16,000) just for the material, and my polisher went nuts! He charged $20.00 a piece to polish them.

I'll check to see about the pricing on the elbows!

Call me tonight! Haven't talked in awhile. Same number as business.

Overstocked on Halltech logos???

SLVRZ06, same here. I don't know about you, but this is kind of a sore subject, especially to have just read that they have plenty left but for some inexplicable reason haven't bothered to send them out to "old" customers REPEATEDLY asking about it.

Originally, it was my understanding they were deleted from the order b/c a certain batch of stickers don't stick very well on the polyurethane bridge. I first bought a standalone CF Cobra MAG and later ordered a T1-C as well. Neither one came with any H/T or "Z06" logos.

For something that helps advertise the product, and a forum vendor, you'd think parting with at least the H/T logo would be a no-brainer.

Sorry Jim, you've actually been a great forum vendor all things considered; voluntarily posting much technical info about your products has been especially commendable. But you don't seem to be attentive to the smaller details required to satisfy ALL your customers. A missing logo sticker on my Halltech Cobra is indeed a very small thing, but you've had many, many chances to put this issue to rest . . . phone msgs, PMs, and sadly even public posts (such as this). All to no avail. :(

AMEN TO THAT ,MESSAGES LEFT ,NEVER GET A CALL BACK , STUFFS ALWAYS PAID FOR BUT ALWAYS ON BACK ORDER . SORRY DUDE ,MANY FL. CUSTOMERS NOT SATISFIED ,UNHAPPY TO SAY THE LEAST .
Strange you would say that, as we have no Jack Frissina in our database having ever ordering anything. Maybe you could post your invoice number, date purchased, and date delivered here, so that the rest of the forum can see how long we waited to get your product to you.

We do have a Jack O., and Jack S., but no Jack F., in our records.

Sorry dude.

Sorry about the sticker. We'll send one tomorrow, but you'll need to email your request, with you full name.

Best,

Jim
