I am leaning towards getting the GMPP MasterGuard Warranty but here is where I am at:

$2100 for 4yr/32000 w/$50 Deductible

or

$2100 for LG MotorSports Headers Installed and Tuned

*What do you guys think?

If your asking, I would even give GM more money for the warranty before giving a dime to LG :(

$2,100 is a lot when headers really do not give any gains, not only hurts GM warranty but the headers and what is needed for them is EPA and smog illegal

Save all that and find a good custom tuner for a cost about $400 as that is the gains, forget the headers, the headaches of EPA and lot easier for warranty of car.

Warranty is really up to the owner. Can you risk a major bill? Do you believe you have a solid car and betting on a warranty is a losing bet? I base these decisions on risk. Some cars, like my Z06 oddly enough, seemed proven enough to risk without an extended warranty.

Others, like my wife's car and my hybrid truck, seemed far more risky. The wife's car has received about 2x the warranty price in repairs. The truck is only a couple months into a 4 year GM Major guard plan and just had all the guts in the rear differential replaced. I think I'll win that bet too considering it was the hybrid parts that scare me and it ended up needed the most basic part of the drive train replaced at 27K miles :)

Headers? I'm with Mike on this one. The C6Z exhaust manifolds are very impressive. Spend your money on other limiting factors first.

No frikken way I would pay that much for a set of LG headers installed.
1st of all the gains you'll get over the stock LS7 manifolds are nominal at best and unless you are planning on major upgrades like Heads and Cam or forced induction in the future you are just throwing money away. Another thing to consider is that most of LG's new headers are cheapo stuff made overseas,,,,,,(IIRC, the LG Super-pro's are made in China). If you want to get a good bang for the buck mod, install a good Cold Air Intake and then get it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing, that would be money well spent. If you are dead set on getting a GMPP extended warranty,. shop around, you will save a ton of money if you get it from the right dealer.
$2100 is way too much for that warranty. There is a dealer in Louisiana that will probably sell you the same warranty for around half that.
Hope this helps!

I doubt most C6 Z06 owners have even looked inside the exhaust manifold which is also the same for the ZR1 and the stock exhaust is not limiting 640-700 HP so surely not limiting LS7 flow

Totally different design then people think and get hyped into the bogus claimed long tube marketing claims on a 2,700 or 3,000 pound static dyno chassis drum with the weather station sitting on top of the engine :-(

You might want to disassemble your heads and check valve guide clearances to see if you're within spec.

"Many" LS7's have had exhaust valves come apart causing catastrophic engine failure. It seems to be the consensus that sloppy valve guide clearance is not allowing proper heat exchange for the valves, therefore causing them to fail.

Most experienced builders (WCCH for one) say that a proper fix would be to replace the factory sintered guides with bronze and replace the two piece sodium filled titanium exhaust valves with one piece stainless steel.

This $4K dollar repair may save you a future $17K repair...:yeadog:

Personally, I keep the warranty up on my 2006. With all the reading I have done about exploding LS7's, and the fact that my car is a January, 2006 build, makes the $1300 every 3 years a good investment in piece of mind. It comes out to about $440 per year.

Good luck!
