Have you pulled the codes:

P0195 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
P0196 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Range/Performance
P0197 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Low
P0198 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor High
P0199 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Intermittent

 

IVO - The only code I get is a 1543. Oil Temp Circuit Open. The DIC always, 100% shows LOW. Never an actual readout, like 140 degrees.

I checked and it is wired up.

 

The LOVE in here brings 1 tear to my eye...:lol:

Are you sure it's not the oil pressure sensor part# 12573107? At the back of the block. I work at a dealer and we replace 1 a week with the intake seals part#12533587.

Thanks for your input...we want to get this right..."My" parts guy looked up "Oil temp sensor for 2000 Vette" and gave me that number. He's always been good in past, but I would want to contirm for sure before shipping anything.

Any particular reason you are considering the pressure sensor as opposed to the temp sensor. GR8 White has been having an issue getting a numeric readout for temp.

 

Sorry i've been away so long. But just confirmed, if the oil gauge is showing no reading such as 0 on the DIC, it is the oil pressure sensor not the oil temp sensor. Tech requires replacing the sensor, connector (prt #88988301) and intake(pleumn) gasket set. Let me know if I could be of anymore help.
