I have C6 ZO6 and want new brake rotors to bolt on with no modification from stock... OEM are for crap with rust issue close to hub. Anyone have any good ideas please let me know. I am not really looking to change to a Brembo brake kit at this time as the ZO6 has great brakes..NEED NICE ROTORS

Isn't racing brake the company that actually recommends against carbotech pads for their rotors due to incompatibilty?? I have carbotech pads and am considering a two piece rotor but I thought I had read on the RB site that the carbotechs are too abrasive or something... Did you talk to one of the makers to make sure or are you here to say "no problem, they work fine together.." Thanks..

I just bought a set of Power Slots and Hawk HPS break pads for $500. These are slotted only and will be perfect for track and street use. Check them out, just google Power Slot and Hawk Break Pads and you'll find them. I'd tell you where I got them but the moderators will just delete the info so good hunting.

You know, you're great at making the smart azz comments but if you'd just read the rules, you'd see that you can mention the name of the vendor as long as you don't link to their site of provide contact info.
If you want to supply that information as well, we have a thing called 'pm's' that allows you to send messages directly to another member.

Wow mike who pissed in your Wheaties. You only think my comments are smart azzed because it's your point of view. I disagreed with you one time and now I have a target on my back. You need to have a bit thicker skin.

BTW the place I bought the rotors from was Auto anything

Cheers
OK OK ! Break it up!! Now you know you can mention it with no links! KS isn't too far from Bowling Green, so come to the ZO6 fest in June and have a beer while voicing any complaints!

Perfect for track and street? What street do you live on? I've never found a set-up so perfect, or even close. Pads for track are so different than street I don't think it's possible and stopped looking for that "silver pad"... Basically, my experience is track pads are OK on the street if they have adequate initial cold bite as emergency stops are often on cold brakes. This limits their true high temp ability. While street pads that dust and squeek little and work well cold are TERRIBLE on track when hot. So if you want an all around pad, I'd get a wimpy track pad.. (XP8's are OK on street, but Carbotech says that's a no no). Carbon brakes may be the exception.

Also, just a note, I think you have a C5, and the C6 rotors, last I checked, were harder to come by, so not sure if your advice fits this application.

I do like Carbotech only because I haven't tried much else. If I track again, I'll swap out my streets for XP8's or higher for track.

Good luck.
